2025 Formula 1 schedule, F1 picks, odds: Emilia Romagna Grand Prix projected leaderboard, start time, race prediction from top model
SportsLine's model simulated the Emilia Romagna GP 2025 and released its F1 predictions for Max Verstappen, Lando Norris and the rest of the grid
McLaren's Oscar Piastri has won four of the first six races this season and he holds a 16-point lead over teammate Lando Norris in the F1 standings heading into the 2025 Emilia Romagna Grand Prix on Sunday at Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari. More commonly referred to as the Imola Circuit, the famed home of Ferrari hosted the Italian Grand Prix in 1980 and the San Marino Grand Prix from 1981-2006 before getting its own standalone grand prix beginning in 2020.
Piastri, who will start from the pole position, is the -250 favorite (risk $250 to win $100) in the latest 2025 Emilia Romagna Grand Prix odds from DraftKings, while Max Verstappen (+330), Norris (+650) and George Russell (+1600) are next on the F1 odds board. Verstappen, Russell and Norries finished second through fourth, respectively, in qualifying.
The lights go out at 9 a.m. ET on Sunday. SportsLine's proven computer projection model simulated the 2025 Emilia Romagna GP 10,000 times, creating a surprising leaderboard.
Developed by daily Fantasy pro and SportsLine predictive data engineer Mike McClure, this proprietary Formula 1 prediction model takes into account a slew of factors, including track history and recent results.
The model has been scorching hot when it comes to picking Formula 1 race events dating back to 2021. It nailed both of Charles Leclerc's wins in 2022, and at the 2021 Mexican Grand Prix, the model was strongly backing Verstappen as its top pick. The result: Verstappen dominated the field and ran away with a surprising victory.
It followed that up by calling Verstappen's win at the Rolex Emilia Romagna GP in April and nailed Verstappen to win in Belgium, the Netherlands, Japan, the United States, Mexico and Abu Dhabi. It also called all 19 of Verstappen's wins during the 2023 season and nailed each of his first seven wins in 2024.
It also predicted Lando Norris's 2024 wins in the Netherlands (+200), Singapore (+190) and Abu Dhabi (+250) as well as his win to start the season at the 2025 Australian Grand Prix (+185). Then it stayed hot by predicting Piastri's wins in Bahrain (-275) and Saudi Arabia (-105). Anyone who followed the model's lead on those plays has seen HUGE returns!
The Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari opened in 1953 and Imola is currently a 19-turn, 3.050-mile circuit. Hamilton set the lap record back in 2020 when he was with Mercedes, with a 1:15.484 on his way to the top of the podium that season. However, Red Bull Racing's Max Verstappen has won the last three grand prix at Imola and he's in desperate need of a win with the four-time defending world champion facing a 32-point deficit to the top of the 2025 F1 standings.
Now, the model has dialed in on the 2025 Formula 1 Emilia Romagna Grand Prix and just released its coveted picks and leaderboard projections.
We can tell you the model is backing Alex Albon (+180) as the top finisher excluding cars from Ferrari, Mercedes, Red Bull Racing, McLaren and Aston Martin. Albon and Williams have found their groove this season coming off a fifth-place finish at the Miami Grand Prix two weeks ago. The 29-year-old has recorded points in five of six races so far this season and is currently eighth in the F1 standings. McClure has Albon projected to finish eighth at Imola, giving you a strong opportunity at a solid payout in this F1 prop from DraftKings.
The model has also made its win prediction and is also targeting one significant underdog to make a charge up the leaderboard! Anyone who backs this driver could hit it BIG. You ABSOLUTELY need to see who he is before locking in any Formula 1 Emilia Romagna GP picks of your own.
